PHOENIX (CBS5) -
He's set out to walk across America to raise awareness and money for heart disease prevention and research. And Colon Terrell's trek is taking him through Phoenix.
Terrell, a heart attack survivor from Raleigh, NC, passed through Phoenix Tuesday as part of his 3,000-mile walk across America.
He's walking about 20 miles per day. His goal is to raise $50,000 for the American Heart Association.
Heart Trek USA will take Terrell through 11 states and eight pairs of walking shoes. He started March 1, in North Carolina and will wrap up his hike at Santa Monica Pier in California in September.
