Avondale police are investigating the vandalism of a city-sponsored mural at the Goodyear Farms Historic Cemetery.
A volunteer organization found the graffiti Thursday night, which covered 70 percent to 75 percent of the mural, a police spokesman said.
The vandalism at the cemetery near 127th Avenue and Indian School Road is now part of an active investigation.
