CPB officers find heroin, cash in Nogales

NOGALES, AZ (CBS5) -

Nogales Customs and Border Protection agents seized nearly 2 pounds of heroin and $20,000 in cash in separate events.

Jesus Emmanuel Jamie, 20, was arrested for attempting to smuggle $24,000 of heroin Friday at the Morley Port of Entry, officers said.

Jamie allegedly tried to hide the drugs under his clothing, officers said. He is being held for federal prosecution.

Claudia Montel, 41, and Yesenia Rachelle Vasquez, 22, were detained Saturday at the DeConcini Port of Entry after officers found $20,000 hidden in a box of diapers, authorities said.

The Drug Enforcement Administration took charge of the case.
