Police seek woman in Avondale bank robbery attempt

The suspect's picture was taken by a bank security camera.

AVONDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Avondale Police are looking for a woman suspected of trying to rob a Bank of America in Fry's Food Store on Friday.

The suspect entered the store On Dysart Road between McDowell Road and Rancho Santa Fe Boulevard around 12:40 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money, police said.

The woman did not receive any money and fled the store in an unknown direction, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the attempted robbery to call the Avondale detective working on the case at 623-333-7225.
