PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Police arrested a 42-year-old Phoenix man they said pulled a knife and sexually assaulted a woman who drove him from a store parking lot in November 1996.

Jason Coleman is facing one count of sexual assault, one count of kidnapping and one count of aggravated assault.

Police said Coleman approached a woman in a store parking lot in the area of 16th Street and Southern and asked her for a ride to Central Avenue.

She agreed to drive him, but when she reached the location he pulled a knife and forced her to drive him to another location where sexually assaulted her, according to police.

Police said Coleman then had the victim drop him off at another location.

Coleman was arrested after Phoenix police made contact with him and a records check showed he had an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.

Police said Coleman denied the sexual assault allegations.
