TUCSON, AZ (AP) -
Several people were arrested on drug charges in Ajo after police unsuccessfully tried to find marijuana in a vehicle during a traffic stop, but later discovered 25 bales of the drug in a shed behind a nearby house, authorities said.
The discovery came after a Pima County Sheriff's deputy made a traffic stop Thursday night in front of the home, the Arizona Daily Star reported.
The deputy smelled marijuana in the car and called for additional deputies and a drug-sniffing dog.
The dog didn't smell drugs in the car but alerted deputies to the fence line of a nearby house.
Deputies eventually searched a shed at the home and found the marijuana.
More than 430 pounds of marijuana were found by deputies.
