Suspect arrested in deadly Phoenix shooting

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Police have made an arrest in a shooting that left one man dead and another wounded in Phoenix early Saturday morning, Phoenix police said.

David Gallegos, 20, was arrested and booked into Maricopa County Jail on a charge of second-degree murder and aggravated assault on Sunday.

Police said Gallegos was suspected of shooting two men at an apartment complex in the area of 1600 W. Glendale Ave. at about 1 a.m. after an altercation.

One of the victims, 23-year-old Jeremiah Cole, died at the scene, according to police. The other victim, a 20-year-old man, was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

It's not known what specifically sparked the gunfire during the altercation.
