PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Chandler police arrested a man who reportedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend several times early Saturday at a home near Dobson and Elliot roads.

Victor Jacome, 18, was arrested near 27th Avenue and Earl Drive in Phoenix Monday afternoon without incident, police said. He was booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault/domestic violence.

Chandler police spokesman Sgt. Joe Favazzo said 21-year-old Sabrina Estanio was visiting Jacome at home in the 2300 block of West Chilton.

Favazzo said Estanio told police she got up to leave the home at about 5 a.m. She said she thought Jacome pushed her, but then she realized she had been stabbed.

Favazzo said Estanio then made her way to a nearby convenience store and called police.

Estanio was taken to a nearby hospital to undergo surgery and is still recovering at the hospital, police said.

The home was surrounded and a search warrant served. No one was found inside, said Favazzo.
