NOGALES, AZ (AP) -
Federal authorities said a Mexican man has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle more than 134 pounds of marijuana into southern Arizona.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers said the 20-year-old man was taken into custody Thursday at the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry.
They said the drugs were found inside a concealed compartment of a sedan after a CBP narcotics detection canine alerted agents to the vehicle.
Authorities said the marijuana had an estimated street value of about $67,000.
The man's name hasn't been released. Authorities said he's been turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations. The drugs and vehicle were seized.
