SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -
A Valley preschool is teaching students as young as 2 years old to be fluent in multiple languages.
At the International School of Arizona in Scottsdale, preschoolers are being entrenched in total immersion.
"The minute you open the door for the car it's 'hola como estas, or como se va?' until the minute you sign and take the kids, so it's all day like this," Adeline Kassisieh said.
Kassisieh has three children at the school and speaks three languages herself.
Kassisieh's children each speak four languages - English, French, Spanish and Lebanese, and her oldest, 6-year-old son is learning Italian.
"The majority of our parents are American English speakers and they pay to come from all over the Valley to give their kids the gift of language," Sharon Brown said.
The International School of Arizona promises that students will be fully bilingual by fifth grade if they began learning when they are 2.
"For a 2-year-old, everything's new, you're learning about your world and your environment so they come to school and get very accustomed to this is just how it is at school. We speak in this language," Brown said.
The school, a nonprofit private school, is opening a new preschool off of 91st and Linda streets and they held an open house Saturday.
