Shooting scene
PHOENIX (CBS5) -
Two people, one of them holding a 1-year-old baby, were hit by gunfire as they stood in front of a south Phoenix home Thursday afternoon.
The baby was not hurt, said Sgt. Tommy Thompson of the Phoenix Police Department.
Thompson said a vehicle pulled up in front of a house at 24th Street and Roeser where a group of people had gathered outside.
The male passenger produced a gun and fired into the crowd multiple times, Thompson said.
"Two 25-year-old men were struck," he said. They are expected to be OK.
Thompson said officers don't believe this was a random incident.
"They're looking to do further investigation inside the house to see if they can determine what the motivation was behind this," Thompson said.
No descriptions were given of the suspects or the vehicle.
