PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A railway replacement and crossing project will require the closure of State Route 79 north of Florence beginning Friday, the Pinal County Public Works Department said.
Officials said SR 79 will be closed between East Hunt Highway and Arizona Farm Road.
Traffic from SR 79 will be detoured around the project. Officials said the detour would add 15 to 20 minutes to travel times.
The project is expected to be completed early next week, but officials warn that bad weather could affect the work schedule.
