KINGMAN, AZ (AP) -
Authorities in northwestern Arizona say 11 suspicious envelopes delivered to the Mohave County Administrative Building didn't contain any toxic substances. But Kingman police are investigating to determine who sent the packages containing an unknown substance and the motive behind it.
Police say the non-descript envelopes received Monday were postmarked out of Phoenix and addressed to various county management and leadership.
They say each of envelopes contained a small plastic bag that contained an unknown substance.
The envelopes and substances were sent to the Arizona Department of Public Heath in Phoenix for analysis and testing.
Police say it was determined Tuesday that the substance inside the bags wasn't dangerous.
The county Bioterrorism Defense Coordinator's Office is investigating the case along with Kingman police, state health officials and U.S. Postal Service inspectors.
