PHOENIX (AP) -
A for-profit education company based in Phoenix has laid off 70 employees.
Apollo Group Inc. spokesman Ryan Rauzon said the cuts represent less than 1 percent of the company's employees.
The layoffs occurred at the Apollo Group and the University of Phoenix.
Rauzon says the company has 100 open positions and encouraged the employees who were let go Tuesday to apply for them.
