PHOENIX (CBS5) -
Early Tuesday morning, Arizona Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell trained alongside a group of U.S. Marine Corps applicants at Skyline High School in Mesa.
Campbell reports to Cardinals training camp in Flagstaff next week. He's been working out all summer to get ready for camp. But Tuesday's workout gave him the chance to push himself and the group of young men and women to new levels.
Campbell said he is an avid supporter of the Marine Corps and all branches of service, so the workout was also a chance to thank them for their service and commitment.
Campbell is the founder of the CRC Foundation, an organization named after his late father. It assists with the development of young people by empowering them with quality life skills. As a result of his hard work in the community, Campbell was named the Arizona Cardinals 2011 Walter Payton Man of the Year.
