Three Phoenix hospitals have nationally ranked adult specialties, according to U.S. News and World Report's annual listing.
U.S. News ranked hospitals into 16 adult specialties, which includes cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, and orthopedics.
According to the report, Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center ranked in cardiology and heart surgery, geriatrics, diabetes and endocrinology and nephrology.
Mayo Clinic ranked in geriatrics and nephrology.
St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center ranked in Neurology and Neurosurgery.
U.S. News interviewed 10,000 specialists and studied data from 5,000 hospitals to determine the rankings.
The report also listed the top 13 hospitals in the Phoenix area and all of them were ranked highly performing.
The three nationally ranked hospitals are the top three hospitals in Phoenix, followed by Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center, Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Banner Desert Medical Center, Banner Estrella Medical Center, Chandler Regional Medical Center, Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center, John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, Banner Del. E. Webb Medical Center and Banner Gateway Medical Center.
The 13 hospitals met U.S. News standards, which included how many patients came to the hospital for specialists.
