PHOENIX (AP) -

Democrat Kyrsten Sinema and Republican Martin Sepulveda led their respective party fields in fundraising in the latest reporting period in the race for Arizona's new 9th Congressional District seat.

Sinema raised $367,000 during the year's second quarter. That topped both her Democratic rivals, David Cherny and David Schapira.

However, The Arizona Capitol Times reports that Cherny raised enough to give him more cash on hand than Sinema.

On the Republican side, Sepulveda reported raising $167,000 during the quarter, including $100,000 that he loaned to his campaign. Vernon Parker was next, raising $138,000.

Travis Grantham also was in six digits, reporting he raised $100,000 during the quarter including $50,000 that he loaned to his campaign.

The other Republicans in the race are Wendy Rogers, Lisa Borowsky and Leah Campos Schandlbauer.
