PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A professional skater has made it possible for a new skate park in Phoenix.
The city honored skater Rob Dyrdek in a ceremony Wednesday at City Hall.
Dyrdek also presented a symbolic check to the city on behalf of his foundation.
Dyrdek's foundation worked with a design firm called California Skate Parks to donate the design of the skate park's construction. The donated work was worth $50,000.
The City Parks and Preserve Initiative is funding the actual construction of the park that will be called Dust Devil Park.
The park will cost about $200,000.
