YUMA, AZ (CBS5) -
A man carrying a machete damaged several items at a Yuma gas station Wednesday before fleeing on foot, police said.
The call first came in as an attempted robbery, but when officers arrived at Barney's at 895 South Fourth Ave., the incident turned out to be an aggravated assault.
Yuma police said they learned that a man entered the gas station holding a machete in an aggressive manner. He damaged several items in the store before he left, officers said. The suspect fled on foot northbound in the alleyway between South Fourth and Orange avenues.
No one was injured.
The suspect is described as black and in his late 20s or early 30s. He's 5'4" tall and weighs about 160 pounds.
