A 31-year-old man was arrested and faces several charges after refusing to stop for sheriff's deputies Wednesday morning, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said.

Jorge Mendez-Perez refused to pull over for deputies who attempted to stop the blue 1995 Chevrolet pickup he was driving westbound on I-10 near Avondale, MSCO said.

Deputies said he continued driving west until finally exiting at Dysart where an MSCO-marked cruiser was blocking traffic.

Mendez-Perez refused to exit the vehicle and deputies pulled him from his truck, which then rolled into the MSCO cruiser, deputies said.

A search of the vehicle turned up nine empty Bud Light cans and two full ones, deputies said.

Mendez-Perez was arrested and booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail for DUI, unlawful flight, and reckless driving, according to MSCO.

Deputies said he is also suspected of being an illegal immigrant.
