Man who ran for sheriff charged with voter fraud

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A man who ran for Mohave County Sheriff in 2010 and 2011 has been charged with voter fraud, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said.

An investigation into Michael Hays by the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office determined that Hays was not a resident of Mohave County when he ran for sheriff, the sheriff's office said.

Hays is facing four felony charges stemming from his attempted run for sheriff, according to a court document.
