Buckeye police have arrested four people, including three juveniles, in burglaries and the theft of equipment at Buckeye Union High School.

Along with the break-ins, graffiti was spray-painted on school walls and buses, said Lt. Jared Griffith, a Buckeye police spokesman. The cost of the graffiti vandalism has yet to be estimated.

One suspect, Joseph Allen Joiner, 18, of Buckeye, was booked in a Maricopa County jail on three counts of burglary, according to jail booking records.

The other suspects, two Buckeye residents and a Tonopah resident, are being prosecuted as juveniles, Griffith said Tuesday. The charges range from burglary to trafficking in stolen property.

The stolen items included several golf carts, miscellaneous electronic equipment and a saber belonging to the junior ROTC program at the Buckeye school, 1000 E. Narramore Ave., Griffith said.

The sword has an engraving that reads, "United States Air Force Academy."

"The majority of stolen items has been recovered, with the exception of the stolen saber," Griffith said.

The burglaries occurred over a three-day time span from June 29 to July 1.
