TUCSON, AZ (AP) -
A state investigation has found that a 67-year-old man who was left outside a Tucson long-term care home in triple-digit heat for more than an hour last month died with a core temperature of 107 degrees.
The Arizona Department of Health Services' investigation faulted Sabino Canyon Rehabilitation & Care Center for inadequate supervision of Joseph Oliver, the Arizona Daily Star reported.
A Tucson Police Department report said it was unclear whether Oliver was sitting in a shaded area or in the sun when he was outside.
Sabino Canyon Rehabilitation & Care Center administrator Christie Jones said her facility plans to file a response to the state report but declined to answer questions about the incident, citing patient privacy.
