PHOENIX (CBS5) -
Mayo Clinic and Phoenix Children's Hospital are teaming up for a major recruitment campaign, hoping to find potential bone marrow donors.
Today's "marrow-thon" offered hospital employees and community members a chance to join the Marrow Registry.
Each year, more than 10,000 people contract life-threatening diseases, and many do not have a matching marrow donor in their family.
That's when the registry can help to find an unrelated donor with a matching tissue type.
