Glendale resident still working to stop Coyotes deal

GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

The man working to stop Glendale's $325 million lease with the proposed owner of the Phoenix Coyotes said he will have enough signatures to present to the city.

Ken Jones said his lawyers are fighting with the city's lawyers over when those signatures must be turned in.

The city of Glendale claims today is the deadline but Jones said it's actually next Monday because he's allowed 30 days to collect signatures.

"I hope we get all of them approved and the people get to vote in November, not those four council members if we spend all of that money," said Jones.

Jones argues the money they want to spend is more than the city can afford.

He was asked several times today how many signatures they had collected but he refused to tell us.
