PHOENIX (CBS5) -
The City of Phoenix is going to start collecting trash and recycling on the same day, making things easier for customers and saving the city money, the Public Works Department said.
Phoenix residents will switch to same-day collection beginning Monday, July 9.
Officials said switching to same-day collection will save the city $1.3 million annually.
The move will also minimize the need for future solid waste fee increases, which have been kept stable over the last three-year period, according to officials.
