TOLLESON, AZ (CBS5) -

A fire that destroyed an LDS Church in Tolleson last week has been ruled arson.

The Tolleson Police Department said at a news conference Friday afternoon that an individual started the fire in the 50-year-old church at North 95th Avenue and West Pierce Street.

ATF is offering a $10,000 reward for information in the case.

"Obviously unauthorized entry was made, vandalism was done and someone set a fire," ATF spokesman Tom Atteberry said.

Tolleson Fire Chief George Good said the fire on June 29 began in the attic.

The center of the roof collapsed into the church and firefighters said the building was a total loss.

At least five ladder trucks from the Phoenix, Glendale, Goodyear, Avondale and Tolleson fire departments and at least 50 firefighters were needed to put out the fire.

Good said no cause had been determined.

No one was injured.
