Water main break stops traffic on 7th Avenue

The gushing water opened a hole in the roadway.

Water pushed through the pavement on 7th Avenue just south of Indian School Road.

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A water main break has closed Seventh Avenue just south of Indian School Road to all traffic.

The leak occurred around 5:45 a.m., shot a few feet in the air at its peak and began flooding the road.

There was no estimate as to when repairs would be completed and service would resume.

No other information was immediately available.
