MESA, AZ (CBS5) -
A Valley group is working to bring a little green to the Valley's urban landscape.
On Thursday, Mesa city officials and members of the "Mesa Urban Garden" initiative broke ground on a community garden.
Individuals and local groups will be able to rent plots of land in the new garden using the space to produce locally grown food for themselves and other members of the community.
The garden is set to open Sept. 11.
