PD: 31-year-old man murdered near Phoenix strip mall

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Police are investigating an overnight murder at 35th Avenue and Northern.

Police said someone called 911 after hearing gunshots early Wednesday morning near a strip mall.

When he went to check it out, he found a man dead.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Nikolas Tipsword.

The witness told investigators he said a white Lincoln or Cadillac-type vehicle leaving the scene.

So far, that's all police have to go on.
