Motorcyclist killed in crash with semi in Surprise

The crash happened on Bell, just west of the Loop 303 in Surprise

SURPRISE, AZ (CBS5) -

A motorcyclist was killed overnight when he rear-ended a semi.

It happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday on Bell, just west of the Loop 303 in Surprise.

Police said the victim was a 21-year-old man. They have yet to release his name.

Detectives said they are unsure at this point if alcohol or excessive speed played a role.

The roadway has since been cleared and is back open.
