Trayvon Thompson
PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A Phoenix man was arrested Saturday for allegedly possessing and using drug paraphernalia in an apartment with seven children.
An anonymous source told police about marijuana sales from an apartment near 67th Avenue and McDowell Road, according to police documents.
When officers arrived, a woman jumped from a second-story window to avoid arrest for outstanding warrants, leaving behind seven children, and the other suspect, Trayvon Damarcus Thompson, 18, who is her nephew.
Police said the apartment was extremely filthy and smelled of marijuana. Thompson admitted to smoking in the home while the children were there, police documents said. Police found two pipes and a homemade bong in his bedroom.
Six of the children were eating expired bologna out of the package - the only food in the house - and Thompson was holding a 6-month-old baby when police arrived, police said. The other children were between the ages of 2 and 8.
Three of the children belong to the woman who fled and she was babysitting the other four, police said.
Police filed a CPS case after witnessing the condition of the home.
Thompson was arrested and booked on one count of drug paraphernalia and seven counts of child abuse.
