Phoenix police ID woman found shot to death in car

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Police identified a woman who was shot dead inside her car in a Phoenix intersection early Tuesday, Phoenix police said.

Police found the car containing the body of Joann Lopez, 32, who had been shot multiple times, in the intersection of 28th Avenue and Washington Street.

Police said they believe the woman was driving from a house party about 2:30 a.m. when she was shot near the intersection where her car was found. They said it appeared she was alone when the shooting occurred.

Police said they have not been able to locate anyone from the party and have no suspects in the killing.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Violent Crimes Bureau at 602-262-6141 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
