AZ Red Cross chapter sends 2 more to Colorado

Posted: Updated:
TUCSON, AZ (AP) -

An Arizona chapter of the American Red Cross has sent two more volunteers and an emergency vehicle to help crews fighting devastating wildfires in Colorado.

The Tucson-based Southern Arizona Chapter says it has sent Dick and Mary Brown to Colorado Springs to deliver the vehicle and spend at least two weeks supporting relief operations.

The Browns are a retired married couple.

They join two other volunteers who were sent to Colorado from Tucson last week.

Among Colorado's active wildfires is the 27-square-mile Waldo Canyon fire northwest of Colorado Springs. It has killed two people and destroyed nearly 350 homes. It is 55 percent contained.
