Chandler lounge hosting fundraiser for bear attack victim

CHANDLER, AZ (CBS5) -

On Monday night, Pearl Sushi Lounge & Bomber Bar is hosting a fundraiser for Mesa resident Peter Baca. The young man was critically injured after being mauled by a black bear while camping near Payson.

Baca was at the Ponderosa Campground with this girlfriend and 1-year-old son. Baca put himself between the bear and his family and is currently in ICU at the Arizona Trauma Center at Scottsdale Health Care.

On Monday, July 2, from 4 to 7 p.m., Pearl Sushi Lounge & Bomber Bar is donating all proceeds from Sapporo draft to the family as well as offering raffle prizes and accepting donations on behalf of the family.

Pearl Sushi Lounge & Bomber Bar is located at 2040 S. Alma School Rd. on the southwest corner of Germann and Alma School.
