SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -
The family of a California dog with celebrity ties is offering a $4,000 reward for information on the pet's disappearance from a Scottsdale home.
Darcy Basinger, the sister of the dog's owner, said the dog had been with her sister on a visit from California, but noticed the dog's discomfort with staying in their parents' home.
Basinger said the dog ran away Thursday from E. Remuda Drive, and she and her sister have been searching for him ever since.
Jo Jo, a Golden Retriever and Cocker Spaniel mix, was formerly rescued in California and placed in a shelter called Camp Cocker, which is the same facility actor George Clooney picked his dog from.
Clooney's ties to Camp Cocker may have helped Jo Jo's owners, as they were able to get Clooney's girlfriend, fellow celebrity Stacy Kiebler, to post a picture of the missing dog to her Facebook page.
Basinger said having already rescued Jo Jo, she and her sister are desperately trying to keep him from homelessness again.
Information or inquiries about Jo Jo can be directed to Darcy Basinger at 626-755-6875 or info@lostmydoggie.com.
