YAVAPAI COUNTY, AZ (CBS5) -

A man who was arrested Friday for stealing a Jeep from a campsite in Prescott died Sunday morning in the hospital, YCSO said.

The Yavapai County Medical Examiner is expected to complete an autopsy by the end of the week.

A man called for help early Friday morning and told the dispatcher a naked man stole his Jeep from a campsite, deputies said. The man heard his Jeep crash after the call.

Deputies found the suspect screaming and he was uncooperative, authorities said. Deputies said they were forced to used a stun gun to subdue the man they identified as 27-year-old Calvin Forrey.

Before he was detained, Forrey's pit bull was shot and killed for attacking a deputy. The deputy was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

Forrey was taken to the hospital and is currently still in the intensive care unit, authorities said. He was not in custody when he died, authorities said.

A family member called deputies June 25 because of Forrey's behavior and refusal to leave.

Forrey admitted to a bath salt addiction during the interview, but he was cooperative and allowed to leave, authorities said.
