After 45 years, Hacienda HealthCare continues to uphold the legacy of its founder.
On Friday, Hacienda HealthCare held a special dedication honoring the late Ilene Butler.
In 1967, Ms. Butler was told she could not legally adopt children because of her unmarried status. But that didn't stop Ms. Butler's compassion and love for children. Instead she became a foster parent for three special needs children who had been abandoned by their families.
Over the years, Ms. Butler took in more children and hired staff to care for them. That operation eventually became, what is now, Hacienda HealthCare.
Hacienda specializes in the care of intellectually disabled, medically fragile and chronically ill infants, children, teens, and young adults throughout Arizona.
