NOGALES, AZ (CBS5) -
Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a man for trying to smuggle nearly three pounds of heroin into the country on Thursday.
Officers inspected a 35-year-old man from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico and found nearly $36,000 of heroin hidden in his trailer, officials said.
The man was arrested and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
He also lost his Laser Visa that allowed him to participate in the Free and Secure Trade program, which provides commercial clearance for low-risk drivers entering the country, officials said.
