PHOENIX (AP) -

Defense lawyers for an Arizona legislator awaiting trial said authorities have provided them with a flood of information from a three-year undercover FBI investigation.

Rep. Ben Arredondo's lawyers said in a motion filed Monday that the Tempe Democrat's trial should be postponed because they need time to study the material disclosed as pretrial discovery.

The investigation's subject or target isn't disclosed, but the motion says Arredondo's lawyers received more than 10,000 pages of documents and 50 hours of audio and video recordings and expect much more.

Arredondo has pleaded not guilty to charges accusing him of soliciting and accepting sports and event tickets from FBI undercover agents and of disclosing confidential information while a Tempe City Council member.

Arredondo's lawyers want his July 3 trial reset to Sept. 1.
