Camp gives young burn victims chance to play

Camp Courage kicked off Sunday as children who had traumatic burn injuries headed toward Pine Summit Camp in Prescott.

This is the 22nd Annual Camp Courage for children a who are burn survivors. The camp is open to children ages 6 to 15. The camp includes horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, swimming, performing arts and making crafts.

The camp, run by the Arizona Burn Foundation, is a chance for burn survivors to go enjoy themselves. The camp's objective is to encourage personal growth and promote confidence and self-esteem in the campers, the foundation's website said.

Children loaded into busses at the Maricopa County Hospital as they prepared to head to the Arizona Children's Burn Camp in Prescott.
