PHOENIX (CBS5) -
Some Arizona employees are taking a break from work to help those less fortunate.
BMO Financial Group spokeswoman Beth Copeland said 425 volunteers made blankets, wrote thank-you cards to military men and women serving overseas, packaged meals for developing countries and prepared food for local families at St. Vincent De Paul, among other outreach projects.
Roughly 6,500 BMO employees in 12 states participate in more than 300 projects as part of their annual nationwide day of service, according to Copeland.
The event started in 2001.
