Containment of the Gladiator Fire reached 80 percent Monday morning.
About 39 firefighters remained on the fire patrol and mop-up duties as small pockets of fuels continued to smolder.
The latest totals from the Incident Command Center showed the fire acreage remained at about 16,240 acres with six destroyed structures at a cost of $14 million since it began as a structure fire May 13.
Officials said rehabilitation plans have been developed and work to restore and stabilize areas disturbed by the fire and subsequent firefighting efforts have started.
There are still some closures in effect on U.S. Forest Service land, and a fire ban continues throughout Yavapai County.
