AVONDALE, AZ (CBS5) -
Police in Avondale have found the man they suspect shot his ex-girlfriend in a school parking lot Friday afternoon.
Avondale Police spokesman Ruben Gonzales said a police surveillance team spotted Thomas Lamont Moton just before midnight Friday and arrested him without incident.
Moton was wanted by police for in connection to the shooting of Takesha Barnes, 33, at Westview High School, located at 10850 W. Garden Lakes Parkway.
Barnes was taken to the hospital in critical condition where she later died.
A witness told police a graduation ceremony was going on at the school and Barnes was leaving the parking lot when she was shot twice.
Police said Moton and Barns have a history of domestic violence and the couple have children together.
