Speeding through an Arizona freeway construction zone proved to be a big mistake for three runaway teenagers from Georgia.
A Navajo County sheriff's deputy stopped a blue Kia Sedona with Georgia license plates for speeding through a section of Interstate 40 just east of Holbrook about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.
The deputy was notified the vehicle was reported stolen from Georgia, and the three teens in the car were identified as the runaways.
The teens were last seen May 14 driving the Kia and were reported missing from Cartersville, GA, on May 21.
They were taken into custody on suspicion of drug paraphernalia, possession of prescription-only drugs and theft of a vehicle.
They were being held in the Navajo County Juvenile Restoration Center, and their parents were notified.
