MESA, AZ (CBS5) -
Students at East Valley Institute of Technology had a lot of incentive for getting a perfect attendance this year. For going to class everyday, students had the chance to win a car.
On Monday, the names of more than 260 EVIT students with perfect attendance were entered into the drawing. The names of two morning students and two afternoon students were drawn. Those four students were then given keys to see if they could start the 2001 Chevrolet Camaro.
Collin Rogers had the lucky key, and drove off the winner of the car donated by Thorobred Chevrolet.
The three runners-up received smaller prizes.
The East Valley Institute of Technology is Arizona's first joint technological education district. It provides occupation-specific programs for high school students at ten school districts across the east valley.
