TOLLESON, AZ (CBS5) -

More than 500 motorcyclists participating in the "Run for the Wall" ride from California to Washington, D.C. rode through the Valley on Thursday.

The "Run for the Wall" ride is in honor of the sacrifices and contributions made by all veterans who have served our nation.

The streets of Tolleson were lined with patriotic well-wishers who waved flags and held signs in support of the riders. When the riders arrived, they were treated to a complimentary hot meal from the Phoenix area Golden Corral restaurants.

As the motorcycle caravan continues to make the more than 2,600-mile, cross-country trek they are expecting the number of riders to rise to more than 2,000.

The final destination for their "Run for the Wall" ride will end at the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C. They will make their final destination just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
