PHOENIX (CBS5) -
Gov. Jan Brewer visited a valley elementary school to launch her Summer Reading List Program.
It's a statewide collaborative effort to encourage Arizona children to sharpen their reading skills over summer break.
Speaking to kids at Acacia Elementary School, the governor challenged students to read at least five books from her suggested reading list this summer.
Once children complete the program, they get a certificate from the governor along with a free pass to the Arizona Science Center.
