PHOENIX (CBS5) -
With the thermometer inching closer to the triple digit mark, many of us take for granted the simply luxuries we have like air conditioning and water.
For those people living on the streets, summers in the desert can be deadly.
Today the City of Phoenix kicked off its annual heat-relief efforts.
They are asking companies and families to donate water.
Small donations of water may be delivered to one of the city's three family services centers during operating hours of Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
- Sunnyslope, 914 W. Hatcher Rd.
- Travis L.Williams, 4732 S. Central Ave.
- John F. Long, 3454 N. 51st Ave.
Sundt Construction Company is doing their part to help donate water to those in need.
With help from their subcontractors and suppliers they kicked off their 2012 Thirst-Aid Water Drive.
Today they delivered 140,000 bottles of water by semi-truck to St. Joseph the Worker, a Human Service Campus Agency.
