GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Crews searching for missing Glendale 5-year-old Jhessye Shockley say they're holding out hope they'll find her.

"I spoke to a couple of the search personnel this week. The motivation is still high.  They still believe in their hearts they are going to find Jhessye out there," shared Officer Tracey Breeden with Glendale Police.

For nine weeks search teams have sifted through garbage at the Butterfield Landfill searching for any sign of the girl.

So far, they haven't made any significant finds but officials say they're confident they're searching the right spot.

Jhessye was last seen in October.

Investigators believe she was killed and her body put in a trash bin in Tempe.

The girl's mother Jerice Hunter remains the prime suspect in the investigation.
